PicPin — Accessibility Statement
Last updated: June 3, 2026
PicPin is built to be usable by everyone. Accessibility isn't an afterthought — the app was designed from the start with high contrast, scalable text, and full screen-reader support. This statement describes the accessibility features PicPin supports and how to get help.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the spirit of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and Apple's accessibility best practices throughout PicPin. We test the app with iOS accessibility tools and treat accessibility issues as functional bugs, not optional extras.
Supported accessibility featuresVoiceOver (screen reader)
Every button, control, and interactive element in PicPin has a clear spoken label, role, and state. This includes:
-
The Start / Stop recording control, which announces whether tracking is active.
-
All icon-only buttons (export, close, clear, and others), which carry descriptive labels.
-
Photo tiles, which announce the file name, its source, and whether it has already been tagged.
-
The map / aerial view toggle, announced as a switch with its current on/off state.
-
The settings options, announced as selectable choices with their current selection.
-
The tagging-in-progress screen, which announces itself and keeps focus on the important "do not interrupt" warning so the screen is never silently unresponsive.
Larger Text (Dynamic Type)
PicPin respects your iPhone's system text-size setting. If you increase text size in Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size (or Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Larger Text), PicPin's text scales accordingly.
Dark Interface
PicPin automatically follows your system appearance, supporting both Light and Dark modes for comfortable viewing in any lighting.
Sufficient Contrast
PicPin uses a high-contrast monochrome design — near-black text on white (and the reverse in Dark mode) — that comfortably exceeds recommended contrast ratios for readability.
Designed for privacy and clarity
PicPin works entirely on your device, with no account to set up and no cloud sign-in to navigate. This keeps the interface simple and predictable, which benefits everyone — especially people using assistive technologies.
Known limitations
PicPin does not currently provide dedicated support for Switch Control or Voice Control beyond the standard behavior iOS provides automatically, and it does not include captions or audio descriptions (the app contains no audio or video content). We are continuing to improve accessibility in future updates.

We welcome your feedback. If you encounter an accessibility barrier in PicPin, or need information in a different format, please contact us:
